Just be you.

Uncertain if he's undervalued A man sits watching life go past him Memories of triumphs past Or of misdemeanours committed on a whim Working for the good of health Or sweeping streets a brush in hand Performing on a spotlit stage Or camouflaged you move with stealth What value do you put on those Who pass you daily as you commute Are they just the faceless masses  You're oblivious of what they play a hand in Its dangerous to assume the worst Of people seen at every turn We are valued by those who love us What does it matter if false opinions haunt us The best in life can come your way Don't over try it It's OK Just be true to who you are And remember You can go far A distance measured by all that is good Altruism Dances To its own tune If you choose the path that's wrong The miles you cover Wasted Spurned If you don't see the distortion caused By wicked thoughts Or Acts of wrong If the world is your enemy

Is It?

Is it the right of every man To consider himself free Oppressions eased by justice No need for locks or keys Freedom is not always physical Interred within a cell Expression of strong ideologies Or of notions strongly held If I am religious Or politicised by my life Agnostic and secular Underfoot, downtrodden The victim hung by strife Am I due true liberty From those whom I count as foe Should I expect to live in peace Tyrants overthrown Or must I simply take it Accepting that this my all Escape an impossibility Until my cards are thrown If I were imprisoned Having committed heinous crimes I'd get what I deserve to get Judged by what I am Is it acceptable? In this our only world That we are unable to help those We witness in distress Imprisoned with impunity Punished by duress AGL

Worth it

Overdosed on pleasure Pain by my side I sit here by the Irish sea An age spent Watching the tides   The breakers come Amid the flotsam A chill wind stings me Sandblasted But happy   Visibility Hardly My eyes barely see Into the distance Beyond my dreams   Imagination gives me comfort As the winds blow strong Tears flow freely But not through sorrow Blinking fast I rub My forehead, twisted, furrowed   It does not matter That the sun doesn't shine The clouds so low The mists of time   A grey seal Bobs her head To catch some air Barely noticed Unless I strain   Does she watch me Or am I vain She does not feel My winter strains Her comfort Would not sit well To me a human It would be hell   The muddy pathway Through Physgill glen Has brought me here And home again The memories lasting Oh so long Easily found Within my brain   Closing my eyes Where ever I am I see those thin

Change the channel

If appalled by all you see Are you ever compelled to set those visions free Torturous images Helpless thousands Displayed for our viewing On a comfortably sized Wide screen TVs We are told That its necessary To bring it to our conscience The AK47 Or petrol bombs flying Unreal when we are viewing Behind the safety of flat screen glass Thousands of miles away If scenes like that came to our door We would be running scared Hopefully pre-warned When a gunman murders the innocent Or a suicidal bomber Detonates his dreams All of the greenery Of freshly laundered Uniforms Dispersed as they scream A crash from the air Or a motorway pile up Emotionless we filter it Upset We use the remote Some would say That its OK We cannot choose The geographical location Or within which world nation We are, we live, we die in Those who live in distant lands Or who sleep Curled in muddy bomb cratered sands Do not choose either To be considered fodder For badly a
