Invisible amid a crowd of thousands
Obscurity
Does her best to hide him
No matter how loudly he tries to call out
The throng he drowns in
Does not hear him

Individual
All alone
In a sea of faces
None of them known
I'd like to reach out
To all of the lonely
Show them the world
Social acceptance

There are those of course
Who choose to be alone
Living life
Never moaning
On their own simply strolling

It is Ok if that's their thing
But what of those that desperately seek
The approval of others
The hope to meet
Kindred in spirit
No wish to be meek

Social inclusion
Minus any confusion
Friendly regard
The outset
Not hard
Recognised by many, and more truly liked
Approval the drug
Allowing them to feel that life is all right

Every person that we meet in this short life
Is either a comrade
Or they may perhaps dislike
We cannot be admired or even cared for by all
If we were there would be no need to rise to the call
Life is not as short as they would have you believe
A day is a flicker
A decade lasts for years

We all know of people
That once friendly,
Have had to leave
Friendships are aplenty
Around every bend
Be open to experiences
Some relationships never end

Let us look out for the lonely
The isolated folks
Who need us to consider them
To show that there is hope
A life lived in darkness
Anonymous, unknown
Is not to everybody's liking
Silently thrown
Into frustration
Of watching them winning
Smiling, spectating
I've been there
It is frightening.
